Longest Night Service (Blue Christmas):
Christmas is sometimes a difficult time for those experiencing sadness, loss, or grief, and the days grow shorter until the Winter Solstice on Dec. 21st.

Join us on Friday, Dec 21st. from 6:00-6:30pm for a brief service of song and prayer to bring warmth and light to the longest night of the year.

Christmas Eve:Please join us for our Christmas Eve finger food potluck, some festive tunes, and a candlelight Communion service.

The potluck will begin at 6pm, with the service beginning at 7pm. If you’re able, bring something simple to share for the potluck. Friends and family are invited to join as well!

It’s Advent! Advent is the beginning of the Church year, when we wait for the coming of Christ at Christmas. If you’d like to learn more about the significance of advent, Presbyterian Mission Agency has resources available online.

Room In The Inn

Join us from 6-8pm on November 17 as we join with over 200 congregations around Nashville in sharing dinner and housing those in need overnight. Contact Tracy Bell with questions.

Can you believe it? We’re celebrating 160 years of service and community here at Woodland. Join us for a breakfast reception at 9:45 followed by worship and celebration at 11.

Announcements (October 21)

Please consider using envelopes for cash offerings, and indicating their purpose as well as including your name. You can also donate electronically through Givelify via app or your browser!

You’re invited to share a prayer request by either speaking aloud during prayers of supplication, or by writing the request on the cards in the pew racks.

Congregational Meeting: October 28. Please plan to stay briefly after worship next week for our annual meeting, to hear the church’s annual report, and to elect officers.

Join us for an evening of fun at the Frist! We’re excited to introduce Woodland About Town – a group open to all ages that’s centered around community and checking out what’s going on in Nashville. Our first outing is Frist Friday on Saturday, October 27 from 6-9pm. Tickets are $12. Contact Tracy if you plan on attending.

Join the Young Adult Ministry for bowling on Thursday, October 25 at Pinewood Social! Meet at Pinewood at 7pm. Cost is around $10/person. Contact Emily Martin with questions (615-232-4696).

The church workday is back on October 27! Help us to prepare our church for the #Woodland160 celebration. We need 6-8 volunteers to assist with tidying up our spaces. All skill levels welcome! Contact Tracy or Elizabeth (410-458-4572) to sign up.

Any individuals who are willing to contribute to the 9:45a brunch during the celebration can let Tracy know.

We’d love to have 160 in attendance at the anniversary service on November 11! Consider inviting a friend to worship at 11:00a for the celebration.
