In baptism, we are joined to Christ and made members of one body— a people seeking to live faithfully into God’s purpose for us and for all creation.

God of Consciousness, lend us the courage to confront the gaps in our own knowledge, those moments when action is the call to educate ourselves, when compassion is the recognition that our lives are not default, when justice is the urge to seek out other walks and other talks, when love is the desire to listen without stipulation or interruption. Grant us the tenderness to acknowledge that the averted gaze is the most profound, most avoidable, cause of human suffering. Remind us of our role in limiting that suffering. With souls to see and hearts to hear, we bear witness to one another, always striving to follow the way of Christ, your Beloved, Anointed One.
